The museum was opened on June 5, 1982. It was established, and is still maintained by the association 'Old Asperen. This association that receives financial support from the town Lingewaal.
Building
The museum is housed in a small nineteenth-century worker, who back as far as possible in the initial state is reduced. It was a very small house, but the former residents have increased by a space at the rear to build. Het voorste gedeelte, de oorspronkelijke woning, is ingericht als oudheidskamer. The building, after the last residents have left, years served as verenigingsgebouw for the local postduivenvereniging ‘De Snelle Vogel’. Front, the original home, is designed as oudheidskamer. This seeks a true and fair view of the manner in which a workmansfamily lived at the end of the 19th century.
Arrangement

The front part, the original home, is designed as oudheidkamer. This one is trying as faithfully as possible picture of how a workmansfamily lived at the end of the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth century.
